Company is seeking a Senior Engineer reporting to the R&D manager who is focused on creating commercially viable products for the packaging industry.

Responsibilities:
- Run projects to research, develop and qualify new materials, that allow innovative, high value products to be added to product line;
- Investigate new materials for improved product properties;
- Develop and propose concepts for new products based upon technical expertise, field knowledge, product knowledge and creativity;
- Develop improved testing and process development capabilities;
- Collaborate with the Materials group on vendor and supplier issues and opportunities

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (BS) in Polymer Science, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering
- 5 years plus Engineering experience in product development and/or polymer development in a manufacturing environment and five years in leading development,
- Strong, practical Polymer Engineering or Chemistry education and experience a must;
- Advanced degree is strongly preferred;
- Six sigma and DFSS experience preferred;
- Fluoropolymer experience a benefit;
- Experience with surface modification of polymers or free standing films beneficial; as is familiarity with film lamination, film extrusion, skiving and preform blow molding
