The system administrator will ensure stable operation of the computer software systems and network connections. This person will analyze and resolve end user software program and connectivity issues.
Responsibilities are but not limited to: -Manage and administrate all operating systems and their corresponding or associated software -Deploy and maintain firewalls, cryptography systems, and all host security activities -Install and configure messaging and printer systems -Distribute and supervise server storage space allotments -Ensure connectivity of all workstations -Establish service level agreements with end users -Monitor and test server software performance and provide statistics and reports. -Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases
Qualifications: -College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 2-5 years equivalent work experience -Working technical knowledge of network, PC, and platform operating systems, including windows, FreeBSD, sun Solaris, Linux -Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, SQL, etc -Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience -Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities -Ability to conduct research into software issues and products as required -Ability to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly language
