Global Logistics Manager

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for managing global logistics processes, and for direct management of the US warehouses.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the operation of the US distribution centers
Develop strong management team (supervisors, lead workers) and oversee personnel management
Inventory management:
- Manage relationships with freight providers to minimize cost while maintaining quality and timeliness expectations
Participate in annual plan development including objectives, strategies, tactical plans
Actively measure quality and strive for continuous improvement
Develop processes for worldwide shipping of products that meet all regulatory and legal requirements relative to duties, fees, and controls.
Work with logistics personnel in Europe and Asia to ensure that local warehouses are cost effective, have the appropriate products in local inventory, and help the local sales and marketing groups achieve their objectives relative to product availability
Establish processes for effective management of forecasts and orders from international warehouses; goal is to maximize inventory turns and service levels in all warehouses
Develop supplier relationships (freight companies, forwarders, etc) that minimize cost and shipping time of transporting goods

Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
A minimum of 5 years experience in Logistics Management
Demonstrated competency with international and domestic carriers and contract negotiations
5 years of supervisory experience
Knowledge of global duty and tariffs
Must be forward thinker and able to implement plans for the management of logistics and the integration of the overall distribution strategy.
