The Business Analyst works closely with Investment business professionals to translate business needs into viable technology solutions and business process improvements.

Responsibilities include:

Proactively build working relationships with business partners and Investment Technology personnel to identify opportunities for improvement and to deliver comprehensive solutions.

Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements, tests plans and training materials; conduct formal and informal training sessions

Prepare project documentation according selected SDLC methodology and utilize the appropriate documentation mechanisms: business process diagrams, use cases, screen design documents, report format documents, etc.

Active participation in the creation of project estimates, cost benefit analyses, and the work plan, tracking progress to plan and adjusting approach to maintain commitments

Support the change management process by documenting requests, evaluating criticality of changes to the business and impact to the project commitments

Core Qualifications:

Skilled in engaging the business in discussions of their needs and translating those needs into written documentation that is useful to the business and to members of the technology team

Possesses broad knowledge of the Investment business and can identify potential impact of requests to the whole organization

Exceptional oral and written communication skills including presentations; Able to articulate business requirements in a cohesive and succinct manner

Deftly handles shifts in priorities and demands of the business

Demonstrated ability to analyze situations and develop viable options

Resourceful in obtaining information to complete assignments

Experience:

3-5 Years experience in financial institution, with 2-3 years in Investments

Active participation on technology projects that used a formal SDLC methodology

Created project documentation including requirement and design documents

Facilitated meetings for associates of various levels of the organization

Experience with data query tools

College degree required with focus in MIS or Finance / Business

MBA, CFA (or other designations) desirable
